There’s nothing quite as hearty and warming as a jacket potato, oozing with delicious Baked Beans and cheese. Here’s a tasty, versatile and nutritious classic, perfect with Branston Baked Beans.
3 baking potato, washed
100 grams of British Mild Cheddar, grated
Salt and black pepper, to taste
And don't forget the special ingredient...
2x 410g tins of Branston Baked Beans
Heat oven to 200C/fan 180C/gas 7. Season the potatoes, then bake for 1 hour or until a knife slides in easily.
After cooking, let your potatoes rest for 10 minutes.
Heat the beans in a pan.
Pierce the top of the potatoes with a knife, and then gently open the tops. Pour over beans and grated cheese.
Serve with a simple side salad.
- Leave off the foil and instead rub the outside of the potato with a little olive oil and salt before baking. You’ll get a nice crispy finish.
- Let the kids decide. Put a load of toppings on the table and let them create their own baked potato experience. This’ll make it fun and help them learn about tastes and cooking.
- Try some different cheeses. Emmental and Gouda go really nicely with both the beans and the potato. You could even try a little grated Parmesan for an Italian twist.
- Spice it up! A little splash of Tabasco sauce is just the ticket if you like things hot.
